Amelia Carolina (Cary) Farias passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020 at age 90. She resided in San Jose and previously resided and worked in Watsonville and Salinas, CA. Born in 1929 in Sonora, Texas to Frank and Velma Farias. Cary was devoted to her mother and father. She received an Associate’s Degree from San Angelo Junior College in Texas. She was the “Reina de las Fiestas Patrias” (queen of the local Mexican heritage celebrations) in San Angelo, Texas. She worked as a secretary for a judge in the San Angelo municipal courthouse. Also, she worked part-time as a disc jockey for a local Hispanic radio station. After moving to California in the 1960’s, she worked for Lockheed in Sunnyvale, CA. Later, she became self-employed doing income-tax preparation and immigration related work. She enjoyed family gatherings and playing the piano. Predeceased by her parents, Cary was the fourth child of 15 siblings. She was married twice and is survived by 5 beautiful children. She also has 14 lovely grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by 3 sisters. Cary will be remembered as a loving and kind mother and for her care and concern of family and friends.
